Informal Sector Data Mapping
The purpose of the mapping is to collect data on the informal sector and analyze the informal sector in the central part of Freetown. The data collection process is based on observational methods rather than direct interaction, data observers utilise mobile devices to record their findings in real-time. The informal sector mapping is crucial because it helps understand the economic contributions, informs policy and planning, enhances visibility and recognition and improves access to services.
When on-site data mapping, I observed limited informal businesses in a particular location with more formal businesses.
