Moyamba, 21st August 2026: With support from ActionAid Sierra Leone and Centre For Coordination of Youth Activities under the Youth Action for Good Governance and Self-Reliance (YAGGS) project funded by the European Union in Sierra Leone. Network AID ( Network AID Africa) under the project title Building Organizational International Capacity for Youth Engagement in Governance organized a day financial management and report system for eight volunteers and five (5) community technical advisory team members, facilitated by FORUT District Manager Moyamba. The training enlightened both volunteers and advisors the importance of financial literacy, financial management and financial reporting in building trust, credibility, internal controls, and planning.
Madam Yeinkain Yamba District Coordinator, welcomed the resource person, ActionAid, CSO Chairperson Moyamba, volunteers and advisors. CSO Chair, Mr Gerald Anthony Foday, commend ActionAid Sierra Leone and Centre for Coordination of Youth Activities for supporting five organisations in Moyamba. The training adopted participatory-learner-centred strategies with presentations, pre and post-tests, scenarios, group work, discussions, and experience sharing. “From this training, I now realise the financial mistakes I have being doing” Advisor.
Madam Lianda B. Williams, Program Officer, AASL Moyamba, shared with us the goal of the YAGGS Project and encouraged trainees to make good of the training. Mr James C. Caulker, Program Coordinator, AASL expressed ActionAid's appreciation for the training and called on volunteers and advisors to make good of the training.
