With the theme: “40 Years of the African Charter: Celebrating Africa’s Human Rights Journey, Legacy, and Future”. The month of October 2026 marks the 40th anniversary of the entry into force of the African Charter on Human and Peoples’ Rights, one of Africa’s most significant human rights instruments. Adopted on 27 June 1981 in Nairobi, Kenya, by the then Organization of African Unity (OAU), the Charter entered into force on 21 October 1986, establishing a landmark framework for the promotion and protection of human and peoples’ rights across the continent.

Moyamba, 21st August 2026: With support from ActionAid Sierra Leone and Centre For Coordination of Youth Activities under the Youth Action for Good Governance and Self-Reliance (YAGGS) project funded by the European Union in Sierra Leone. Network AID ( Network AID Africa) under the project title Building Organizational International Capacity for Youth Engagement in Governance organized a day financial management and report system for eight volunteers and five (5) community technical advisory team members, facilitated by FORUT District Manager Moyamba.

This is my first experience learning. Most of the things talked about in the training were unknown to me. Have never known them in my life. I was happy I went for the training. The interaction and experience were wonderful because being around knowledgeable, elderly, experienced people in society actually helps the younger generation to have ideas on things happening around them and in their society

On hearing that I was supposed to start my internship on Tuesday, I had mixed feelings about what my first day was going to be like. I was skeptical, nervous, and full of questions in my head. Questions like, " How are they going to welcome me at the office? Who and who am I going to meet? Will I be able to work there? Am I going to stay there till the end of my internship? Are they going to be friendly?.

Chief Country Coordinator of Network AID Africa, commend International IDEAS through the European Union for funding CHRDI engagement on electoral justice and social accountability with youth, civil society, market women, traditional authorities and persons with disabilities. He calls for a more direct engagement with illiterate persons and the need to support inclusive hearing impaired communication programming, which Network AID Africa is soliciting support for - (bridging the speech impairment communication gap)

It was revealed that No minister has never submitted a single report to parliament by the Ministry of Local Council. No performance audit been debated in parliament.

He mentioned that Network AID Africa uses the Responsibility-based approach which is a supply side approach rather than demand side approach among other things it calls for mutual accountability and service delivery provision without asking. He maintained that CSO is a unique space that utilizes diverse interventions based on the issues at hand for instance: public education, dialogue, provide services, advocate, adversarial etc.

“ I have been asked by a school principal if me too believe in the free quality education”. We are having school heads (principals) undermining the free quality education yet collected salary from the 22% government allocation to education.

ROOTS want to see a change in Bo, Kenema, Bombali, Bonthe, Port Loko and Tonkolili on inclusivity and voting partners by placing service delivery, their wellbeing, love for country forst and see political party as a scam. when citizens able to understand that the police under All Peoples Congress (APC) that are brutalisng citizens in Bo are the same police under Sierra Leone Peoples Party (SLPP) brutalisng citizens in Bombali. the same civil servat that sign a concrate under APC are the same civil servant increasing toll fare under SLPP

We as illiterate women exhibited no idea on the current constitutional amendment review provisions as well as other laws protecting women and girls. The illiterate persons’ are describe as “women as unsung community builders”.

Participation needs to include more excluded voices (illiterate persons, persons with disability, “I am happy to be here as young person who is now a Government Minister, it demonstrates we moving but slow and we have left behind on the YPS”.

The bill will aim to at regulating the use, availability, sales, fines and penalty, precursory, screening, importing limit and per cent, evidence based treatment, tools and equipment, capacity enhancement, taxation. At the end of engagement, unanimously! all stakeholders agree for a bill to control alcohol with engaging the alcohol manufacturing industries with no compromising the public health with resource mobilisation. The next step was collated by FoRuT to share with all stakeholders.

In all the 17 operational districts of NEW, the elective positions were contested for: 1 District Coordinator 1 District Secretary 10 District Team members (5 female 5 male)

Network Assistance for Illiterate Person’s Development Africa “Network AID Africa” is a strong player in the public finance and economic governance advocacy architecture was invited by the Ministry of Finance through the Non-State-Actor on Public Finance Management on the launch of the 9th edition of the Citizen’s Budget 2026.
